The Great Divide

This war is one of ideology. Yours versus mine. But because the debate has grown tired, we use tanks and bombs as ammunition for dialogue. You bring your tanks and I will bring my shells. In the background, they scream for us to stop. But there is no stopping us. Not until you bow to my ideology, second only to my belief that it is never a case of "either or". This is a zero sum game. It is your ideology versus mine.

Through the military whitenoise, the message sent to the ones listening is that of horror, suffering and the absence of humanity or compassion. And as we idly wait for "someone to do something", we shy our eyes and ears from their screams.

This war is divisive. We will see friends looking on from the other side. Some will bear arms. Others will bear flags. I will read and see pictures of them. A mix of feelings will surge from within and then subside. I will know where I stand and I know where they will stand. We will be either above or below the rubbles of this war.

This war is changing everything. And we look on helplessly at the state of the condition we are in.
