Shelf life

My mom was stressing to me over the weekend about how important it is to find a "mate" whilst in school. Her reason was that you simply would not have the time nor energy to go find a "mate" once you start work. Now, i found it awkward that she would even choose to breach this topic with me. Number one, i am only 23. Number two, she is a 54 year old woman with 4 kids and mating shouldn't really be on her mind anymore. Number three, i have not even passed out of school and marriage is supposed to be top on my list of things to do after graduating?

Tis queer, since i have always thought my mom was more modern than traditional when it comes to marriage. *wedding bells beckon*

I don't think so.

Maybe it is her fear that i will be left on the shelf.. is that necessarily a bad thing?
